Children's Home Society & Family Services' Philanthropic Award Winners Announced
ST. PAUL, Minn. September 28, 2007 - Children's Home Society & Family Services (CHSFS) announced today its Philanthropic Award winners, honoring last year's outstanding contributions by individuals and organizations through the giving of time, service and support to CHSFS.

Fred C. and Katherine B. Andersen Foundation Bayport received the Outstanding Philanthropic Organization Award. This award honors an organization with a record of civic responsibility in support of children and families, demonstrated generosity to CHSFS programs, and demonstrated leadership and commitment to children and families. For many years, support from the Fred C. and Katherine B. Andersen Foundation Bayport has helped CHSFS assist families in crisis and has been instrumental in making CHSFS' Capital Campaign a success.
Mintahoe Hospitality Group received the Outstanding Commitment to Children's Home Society & Family Services Award. This award honors an individual(s) or organization that has demonstrated exceptional generosity, civic responsibility and leadership to the agency; has by example encouraged others to support the agency; demonstrated a willingness to continue their commitment; and impacted the lives of children and families. In addition to significant donations to CHSFS, for over six years, Mintáhoe Hospitality Group has also contributed significant in-kind services and joint- publicity opportunities.
Saint Paul College received the Outstanding Commitment to Children Award. This award honors a person or organization that demonstrates outstanding commitment to children and the work of the agency. A twenty-year partnership with Saint Paul College allows CHSFS to bring quality and affordable early- childhood education to children of enrolled students.
St. Thomas Academy and Convent of Visitation School received the Outstanding Youth Philanthropists Award. This award recognizes youths who have demonstrated exceptional generosity and civic responsibility in providing support to the agency and by example have encouraged other youths to support the agency. These two high schools provided a large cadre of volunteers who contributed many hours of community service at several CHSFS' Early Learning Centers.
Jevne Pennock posthumously received the Lifetime Achievement Award. This award recognizes special and enduring service to children and families. Jevne shared almost 40 years of her time and talent as director and director emeritus of the board, event participant, benefactor and as a constant advocate for the needs of children and families.
Northwest Airlines' Pilots for Kids received the Outstanding Community Volunteer Award. This award recognizes volunteers who have contributed personal time and effort to the agency on behalf of the children and families served through CHSFS. For over 10 years, Northwest Airlines' Pilots for Kids has hosted a fantasy flight to the North Pole for children adopted through CHSFS' Minnesota's Waiting Children program and their families. The pilots have donated their time, money and talent to give children a travel experience of a lifetime.
