Social Worker II (Pregnancy Counselor) The Pregnancy Counselor is an integral member of the Birthparent Pregnancy Counseling Services (BPCS) team. This position is challenged to build durable relationships with clients experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. Decision making counseling, grief and loss support and referrals to community resources are all components of this position. This position will also be a member of the professional team of social workers preparing and training prospective adoptive clients.
Qualifications: MN Social Work license required, experience or MSW preferred. In addition, the successful candidate will have:
- Strong assessment skills
- Ability to create strong, trusting relationships with a diverse population of clients
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in industry standard MS Office Software
- Understanding of the adoption process
- Commitment to the open adoption concept
- The ability to pay close attention to detail
