Brief Job Description: Children's Home Society & Family Services is seeking a Communications Director to serve as an integral member of the Advancement team. This individual will be responsible for coordinating, developing and implementing all internal and external communications strategies and public relations activities.  This position oversees the creation of print and electronic collateral materials and services for the agency and its programs in the area of marketing, communications and public relations. 

Qualifications:  A bachelor degree in communications, journalism or marketing/public relations is required (graduate degree preferred) with demonstrated success over the span of 5 years in marketing, communications or public relations (preferably in the nonprofit or association sector). In addition, the successful candidate will have:

• Strong creative, strategic and analytical skills
• Experience developing and managing budgets
• Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and working with media
• Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications
• Computer literacy in word processing, data base management and graphic design
• Commitment to working with shared leadership in cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
