|  | Student Support Internship Position Available Fall 2008. The Student Support Intern will work with students, parents and educators individually or in group settings, maintain accurate and timely records, as well as complete tasks that will enhance our overall service. Responsibilities include: provide one-to-one or group academic support to students ages 13-18. Program hours are 3-7 pm, Monday-Thursday. Opportunity to work with a specific student/school in terms of education achievement and related issues; assist with collection, documentation and maintenance of documents promptly and efficiently; opportunity to assist with collection, documentation and maintenance of student records as it pertains to academic success; stimulate an interest and appreciation of literature with the youth; opportunity to plan and co-facilitate student support groups, opportunity to facilitate Second Step and/or the Start Something Curriculum; opportunity to create, update and organize a Resource File for youth and their families; opportunity to plan and facilitate Family Nights. Qualifications include: junior- or senior-level student enrolled in psychology, social work or related field; interest or experience in working with youth (ages 13-18); respect and understanding of youth and families from diverse backgrounds; interest or experience in facilitating educational classes and/or support groups and training sessions; strong communication and organizational skills.
