Founded in 1889, Children’s Home Society of Minnesota knows that a child in a safe, nurturing home is a child who thrives. We work to give every child security, opportunity and a loving family.
On July 1, 2012, Children's Home Society and Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota came together. As independently licensed organizations, this partnership allows us to combine complementary adoption services, high standards of quality, and strength as a national provider of adoption services.

Licensing and Accreditation
Nationally, Children's Home is fully accredited by The Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption; a founding member of the Child Welfare League of America; and a founding member of Children’s Home Society of America.
In Minnesota, Children's Home is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services; a participating member with United Way community fund drives throughout Minnesota; and meets all standards established by the Minnesota Charities Review Council.
Children's Home East Office is licensed by the Department of Human Resources, Office of Licensing & Monitoring in Maryland; by the Department of Social Services for the Commonwealth of Virginia; and by the Health Regulation Administration, Child and Residential Care Facilities Division in the District of Columbia. Children's Home East is a participating member of the Combined Federal Campaign for federal employees (CFC# 50400).
Children's Home Society of Minnesota is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, with offices in Virginia and Maryland.
