Children's Home Society & Family Services is committed to help children thrive and to build, strengthen and sustain individual, family and community life.

Our Core Purpose
Recognizing the fundamental human rights of children, Children’s Home Society & Family Services works to give every child security, opportunity and a loving family.

Our Definition of Family
A family consists of two or more people, whether living together or apart, related by blood, marriage, adoption or commitment to care for one another.

We pursue four key strategies to achieve our core purpose:

Family Support and Preservation
Assure a family remains stable by enhancing its capacity to provide a safe, loving, secure environment for its children.

Transitional Family Environments
Provide a temporary family environment for a child who cannot stay within his/her family, until the original family can be reunited or a new family formed.

New Family Formation and Support
Facilitate the formation of a new family for the child in need of one, then work to support and preserve that family.

Advocacy and Education
Advocate for public policies that support the well-being of children and families, and lift up the voices of people most affected by those policies.
