CHSFS East, formerly Adoption Service Information Agency (ASIA), has been providing high-quality international adoption services for families in Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. since 1981.
Since merging with CHSFS in Minnesota, we've opened up a broader choice of international programs for families considering adoption. It's what sets us apart from other agencies in our region. We offer families face-to-face support – from home study and pre-adoption education, to post-placement counseling and post-adoption services.
Nationally, CHSFS is fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation; fully accredited by The Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption; a founding member of the Child Welfare League of America; and a founding member of Children’s Home Society of America.
CHSFS East is licensed by the Department of Human Resources, Office of Licensing & Monitoring in Maryland; by the Department of Social Services for the Commonwealth of Virginia; and by the Health Regulation Administration, Child and Residential Care Facilities Division in the District of Columbia. CHSFS East is a participating member of the Combined Federal Campaign for federal employees (CFC# 11120).
