Orphanage Assistance Program
Through orphanage assistance programs, CHSFS helps provide for the urgent needs of vulnerable children which may be the result of a medical emergency or natural disaster.
Gifts from generous donors also allow us to distribute resources to support the ongoing needs at orphanages.
We continually seek out projects and relationships that help us met the needs of Ecuadorian families and children.
La Casa María Amor
Up to 70% of Ecuadorian women have experienced violence in their lifetime (UNESCO). Violence against women has negative implications on individual, family and community levels.
La Casa María Amor in Cuenca, Ecuador, a domestic violence shelter for women and children, is supported through the generosity of CHSFS donors. At the shelter, victims of domestic violence can find a safe place to stay, health services and emotional and psychological support. Additionaly, the organization focuses on entrepreneurship with a goal of economic independence for the women and their children. Savings cooperatives offer credit to women who want to begin their own business.
The laundry service pictured on this page is run by women of the shelter and was made possible through the savings cooperative.
