Help children in Thailand thrive.
You can improve the lives of vulnerable children living in Thailand by making a contribution to Children's Home.
Projects in Thailand
Friends For All Children
Financial support given through Children’s Home helps support the work of Friends For All Children, an organization dedicated to the welfare of Thailand’s children. Its director takes pride in having never turned away any child, regardless of their physical or emotional needs. Friends For All Children provides food, supplies, care and more for vulnerable children in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and other areas throughout Thailand.
Projects of Friends For All Children supported by Children’s Home include Home of the Swallow, a home for pregnant and parenting women, and Baan Dada Children's Home.
Baan Dada is a children’s home and community economic development center located on the Thailand-Myanmar border. It is in an area where many migrant workers and refugees moved due to poverty, disease and political unrest by the military government. Baan Dada is home to approximately 60 orphaned and disadvantaged children. In addition to providing a safe living environment, the main objective is to empower the children through education. They are taught many skills including music, sewing, motor bike repair, art, language and technical skills.
Children’s Home support has helped Baan Dada complete the construction of the Girls’ House as part of the Children’s Home Shelter Construction Project in Sangkalaburi, Kanchanaburi, near the Thailand-Myanmar border.
Baan Dada also provides jobs for single mothers, refugees and local families who help care for the children and assist with farming and construction. The children work together to help sustain the home by making and selling hand-drawn bookmarks, planting rubber trees and performing cultural dances and music.
Home of the Swallow
At Home of the Swallow, women learn skills, such as how to sew, that will help them find gainful employment. Our support to Refuge Ministries’ Home of the Swallow enabled a small group of young, single mothers to successfully complete their vocational training and move on to find work that will sustain their families. Additionally, contributions from Children’s Home helped Home of the Swallow provide safe and nurturing child care for the children of these young women and, when necessary, therapy for their special needs.
Contributions through Children’s Home for projects in Thailand resulted in the construction of a new public latrine that will help a small community of families maintain public health. Funds also contributed to creation of a bicycle program that helps young students in rural Thailand stay in school by providing bicycles for transportation, since not having a way to get to school is often the barrier that prevents a child from getting an education.
