We can help you unlock your child’s potential. Every child learns differently. At Children’s Home Society & Family Services, we can help you identify and understand the obstacles to success your child may be experiencing. Through our Learning Disabilities Assistance program, we’ve supported thousands of children and their families as they navigate learning issues relative to dyslexia, attention-deficit disorder, emotional or behavioral difficulties, difficulties in auditory processing, or information integration and memory disabilities.

If your child:

  • Struggles with academics or low self-esteem,
  • Receives special education services, but has an individualized education program that seems ineffective, or
  • Has a suspected or diagnosed learning disability,

We can empower you to become an advocate, so your child receives the assistance he or she deserves. We partner with you to help your child achieve full potential.

We offer family-support meetings at home or in our offices. We can provide phone consultations and individualized resource information. We will even attend school meetings with you, to help you become your child’s best advocate.

Our staff will partner with you to help your child live up to his or her fullest potential. You’ll gain:

  • Ideas to improve communications with school personnel
  • Assistance in advocating for your child
  • Information on federal and state special-education laws and rules
  • Assistance in developing your child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP)
  • Access to resources, including assessors, counselors, support groups, and school options

Learning Disabilities Assistance serves families of kindergarten, elementary and high school children (grades K-12) in the following Minnesota counties: Anoka, Chisago and Ramsey. Assistance is provided by phone or in person and can include attending school meetings with the parent.

All services are free and confidential. Contact us at 763.785.1181 or register online for an intake appointment and to create a success plan for your child.
