I loved dropping my daughter Precious off at the CHSFS Whittier Early Learning Center. The staff really helped me to feel like I was leaving Precious with good people who care about the well being of the entire family.

The teachers at Whittier always talked to me when I showed up – not just the usual “hi” and “bye” talk – but would stop and chat with me, ask me how I was doing and how I was feeling. As a single parent, I had no one else to ask me those thoughtful questions. Sometimes I had so much built up inside of me that I would start to cry because I was thankful that someone else thought enough of me to ask, “How are you doing?” Everyone I was in contact with at CHSFS assisted me in my life journey as a single parent.

Knowing that Precious was being cared for by such loving people made me a better worker. At my job, I could fully concentrate on my work and not worry if my child was being taken care of.

CHSFS would also have parent gatherings after hours. That was the best – it was the only time I could meet with other adults, and we didn’t have to talk about anything serious, we could just talk. We could see our children interact with one another and have dinner together.

Thanks to CHSFS, Precious blossomed educationally and socially. I say that is why Precious passed the entrance exam at her new private school with flying colors – CHSFS helped her to achieve that success. I have a very smart, hearty, healthy young child and I will always think of CHSFS as being my “other half!” I surely miss everyone at the CHSFS Whittier Early Learning Center.
